&lt;p&gt;You are correct. The purpose of my script is to move the comments to an &amp;quot;archive&amp;quot; user account, thereby maintaining the comments but really not the user ID that made them. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;As with any direct DB management, experienced DBA or developers only.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;However, I still think there should be an &amp;quot;archive&amp;quot; feature or something that at least lets us delete a user ID w/o having to clear out all related records. =)&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It’s very interesting to see that some of our clients create tools to fit
their needs.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;However, I would like to bring a nuance to Karine’s post: you should be
careful with the database integrity. This script can make the database “lie” to
you about who make the comments, the task creator, etc. Also, some USER_ID
references seem to be missing for some table, for example PROJECT_CREATOR_ID.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I don’t recommend using such a script, since there is no rollback possible. This
