| Q |
Can we create a project from a template? Can we copy a project? |
| A |
Yes. A project template simplifies new project creation.
A project's structure (assigned users, groups, types, statuses, priorities)
as well as its tasks can be copied. A project can be copied only if it has been
defined as a template. To do so, check the "Project Template" checkbox in the "Project #" tab. |
| Q |
When I attach files to a project, are they uploaded on your servers or are they saved on my computer? |
| A |
When a file is
attached to a project or to a task, it is automatically uploaded into your online account. |
| Q |
Do you support versioning for project documents and file attachments? Can a document be protected against deletion and modification by another user? |
| A |
Yes. A
document may be given a version number. Many versions of the
same document may be attached.
A document may be locked when it's attached. The other
project assigned users can view the document, but they can't overwrite the original version. However, they can modify the document and save it with the same name, but they have to specify a different version number. |
| Q |
Can I delete
certain parts of a project, or must I delete the whole project? |
| A |
When deleting a project, you are prompted to choose which parts of the project you wish to delete. Only administrators can delete projects. This can be done under “Administration -> Administrative Tools -> Delete Project”. The following options are available for project deletion:
- Time sheets only
- Time sheets, discussion forums, tasks and file attachments.
- The whole project
HINT: You can set a project's status to "Completed" instead of deleting it. |
