Contextual Help - Administration: Task Calendar (Monthly View)

The Task Calendar (Monthly View) is useful to get a monthly perspective of what needs to be done. The calendar displays all incomplete tasks, for all projects, for the current month. You can browse by month by clicking on the arrows above the month. 

This window has
4 parts: the title bar, search bar, the calendar itself, and the task list
  • The title bar tells you where you are in AceProject.
    • The Export link opens a window that allows you to export the list of tasks that is displayed on your screen, below the calendar. Export is available in two formats: CSV and pure Excel.
      • The following options can be set when exporting:
        • Column Delimiter (separate items with a comma, a semicolon or with tabulation).
        • Decimal Symbol (dot or comma)
        • Date Format
        • Export On-Screen Columns Only (un-checking this box will export hidden columns as well).
        • Remove HTML Tags (un-checking this box will export all HTML code that may have been used for text formatting).
    • At the end of the title bar you will find the link to contextual help.  
    • The total number of tasks for the selected month is displayed next to the page title. 
  • The search bar lets you filter which tasks to display. Simply choose the search criteria you need and click Apply Filter
  • The calendar displays all incomplete tasks, for all projects, for the current month.
    • Display another month by choosing it from the drop-down list or using the arrows beside the month.
    • You may select one or more search criteria. 
    • The week numbers are displayed on the left border of the calendar. 
    • The current day's square is bordered in black. 
    • Simply position the mouse pointer over a task to see a tooltip that shows the task information.  
    • At the bottom of the calendar you will see the legend for the coloured squares used in the calendar: 
      • : Task starting on this day 
      • : Task ending on this day
      • : Task starting and ending on this day
  • The Task List contains all tasks displayed in the calendar. It can be displayed by selecting the "Show the Task List" option from the drop-down, below the calendar.
    • You can open a printer-friendly version of the task list and even decide how many tasks to print on each page. Simply click the "Printer Version" link.
    • The Export link opens a window that allows you to export the list of tasks that is displayed on your screen, below the calendar. Exportation is available in two formats: CSV and Microsoft Excel. The following criteria can be set: Column Delimiter, Decimal Symbol and Date Format.
    • You can sort the task list by clicking on any column header: click once to sort in ascending order and twice to sort in descending order.  
    • Click the project name to open the project and get to its incomplete tasks list.
    • Click the project number to open the project parameters.
    • Click a task summary to open the task.
      • If there is a file icon next to the task summary (), this means there are file(s) attached to the task. Click on the file number to open the task's file attachment tab.
      • If there is a clock icon next to the task summary (), this means you have an IN/OUT item active for this task. Click the clock to edit your counter.
      • If there is a dependency icon next to the task summary (, or ) this means that the task is linked with other tasks.

What are the hatched squares for?
These days are in the previous or next month.

What are the coloured squares used for?
The legend is the following:

  • : Task starting on this day 
  • : Task ending on this day
  • : Task starting and ending on this day

How can I change the month?
You can browse from month-to-month by using the arrows above the calendar.

How can I see only the tasks assigned to me?
Simply choose yourself as the assigned user and click "Apply Filter". By default, all tasks are displayed in the calendar for the current month. You may select one or more search criteria.
