Contextual Help - File Attachments (Documents)

The File Attachments window displays all files that are attached to tasks in this project.

This window has 2 parts: the title bar and the list of file attachments.

  • The title bar tells you where you are in AceProject.
    • The total number of file attachments is displayed in parentheses.
    • The total size (in megabytes) of all file attachments is displayed in the title bar as well.
    • The "Add a Task" link lets you create a new task in the actual project.
    • The "Help" link brings you to the "Contextual Help".
  • The list of File Attachments displays all file attachments for this project along with all related details for each file.
    • The "Uploaded by All Users" drop-down lets you filter the list of files by user who uploaded them.
    • The "Text to Search" box lets you search for specific files by entering keywords.
    • The open icon () lets you open the corresponding file in a separate window.
    • The floppy disk icon () lets you download a copy of the corresponding file and save it on your hard drive.
    • The table can be sorted by clicking any column header: click once to sort in ascending order and twice to sort in descending order.
    • Click a file attachment's task summary to open the task that is associated with it.
      • If there is a file icon next to the task summary (), this means that files are attached to the task. Click the file number to open the task's file attachment tab.
      • Files can be locked by a user so no one else can upload it and overwrite its content. However, you can still download it and open it on your computer. Locked files have a red padlock icon () in the State column; unlocked files have a green padlock (). To change the file's state, open its task and click on the padlock icon in the Action column.
