The
Compose window
allows you to send messages
to one user, several users or all members of a project team.
This window has 3 parts: the title bar,
the navigation tabs and the message box.
- The title bar tells
you where you are in AceProject. At the end of the title bar you
will find a link to this contextual help.
- The Navigation Tabs
help you toggle between your inbox, your sent messages and
composing a new message.
- The Message Box is where you set
parameters for your message and write the actual text.
- In the
Recipient
section,
you can choose between sending your message to one user only or several
users:
- To
choose your
recipients,
click the
User(s) radio
button, then choose
one or more
names
in the list.
Names with (A) are administrators.
- Double-click on a user's name to transfer it to the
recipient list. You can also click on a user's name,
then click on the [>] button to transfer it to the
recipient list.
- Click the [All >] button to add all users to the
recipient list.
- Click the [Admin>] button to add all administrators
to the recipient list.
- Click the [< All] button to remove all users from
the recipient list.
- Click on a user's name, then click on the [<] button
to remove it from the recipient list.
- To send
your message to all users assigned to a project, click the All
members of a project radio button, then choose the project
in the list of all projects.
Unless you have
Administrator access, this
list will
only include
projects you are assigned to.
- The Message section
is where you compose the actual message.
- The Importance drop-down
list lets you set the priority of your message. Options available are Normal or High. High importance
messages
will be identified with a red exclamation mark:

- The Subject line is used to enter the topic of the message.
- The text area is where you will compose the text of the message. A rich text editor lets you format your text with bold, italic or hyperlinks, among other options.
- Check the Send email notification to recipient(s)
checkbox to send a copy of the message directly to the
recipient's email address. The subject of the email will be the
subject of the message you sent through the Message Center.
- Click the
Send button to send your message
to the recipient(s). Click the
Cancel button
to return to your
inbox without sending the message.
Which users can I send a message to?
If you are an Administrator, you can send messages to all users
created in your account. On the other hand, if you are a normal user, you
will be able to send messages to the users you can see in your user
directory, in accordance with your access rights.
Can I send a message to all members of a project?
You can click the "All members of a project" radio button and select
the project name from the drop-down list.
How can I make an active hyperlink in my message?
You can use the "Hyperlink" function in the rich text editor.
