Contextual Help - Project Statistics

The Project Statistics window provides statistical data for the actual project.

This window has 3 parts: the title bar, the "project" group and six (6) statistics tables. 

  • The title bar tells you where you are in AceProject. At the end of the title bar you will find a link to contextual help. 
  • The Project group provides the number and the name of the actual project.
  • The Statistics tables provide statistical data for the actual project. General statistics are on top, and the other tables display project statistics that are broken down by "Project Users", "Task Groups",  "Task Types", "Task Statuses" and "Task Priorities".
    • The General Statistics table provides global information about the actual project.
      • The "Total Tasks" field shows the total of all existing tasks within the actual project (both "incomplete" and "completed").
      • The "Total Incomplete Tasks" field shows the total of all existing tasks within the actual project that have either a "Waiting" or an "In Progress" status.
      • The "Completed Tasks" field shows the total of all existing tasks within the actual project that have a "Completed" status (in other words, closed tasks).
      • The "Total Documents" field shows the number of "file attachments" and "Project Documents" within the actual project, as well as the total storage space these files are using.
      • The "Total Estimated Hours" field shows the sum of all tasks' "Estimated hours", within the actual project.
      • The "Total Actual Hours" field shows the sum of all work hours entered by users in their time sheets for all tasks within the actual project.
        • Only work items with an "In progress", a "Submitted or an  "Approved status are included in the computation. Rejected time is not included in the computation.
      • The "Average Estimated % Done" field shows the average "% Done" for all tasks within the actual project.
        • The computation is made as follows: S (estimated hours X %done) / total hours
      • The "Average Actual % Done" shows the average "Actual % Done" for all tasks within the actual project.
        • The computation is made as follows: S (actual hours / estimated hours) / total tasks
    • The Project Users Statistics table provides project statistics, broken down by user.
      • The "Project Manager" column mentions if the user is assigned as a "Project Manager" on the actual project or not.
      • The "Created Tasks" column shows the total number of tasks each user has added within the actual project.
      • The "Assigned Tasks" column shows the total number of tasks that are assigned to each user, within the actual project.
      • The "Tasks to Review" column shows the total number of tasks each user is reviewer on, within the actual project.
      • The "Actual Hours" column shows the total number of work hours each user has entered in their time sheets, for all tasks within the actual project.
        • Only work items with an "In progress", a "Submitted or an  "Approved status are included in the computation. Rejected time is not included in the computation.
      • The "Assigned Hours" column shows the total number of hours each user has been assigned, for all tasks within the actual project.
    • The Task Groups Statistics table provides project statistics, broken down by "Task Group".
      • The "Total Tasks" column shows the total number of tasks that are associated with each "Task Group", within the actual project.
      • The "Total Estimated Hours" column shows the total number of "Estimated Hours" for all tasks that belong to each "Task Group", within the actual project.
      • The "Total Actual Hours" column shows the total number of work hours that have been entered by assigned users in their time sheets, for all tasks that belong to each "Task Group", within the actual project.
        • Only work items with an "In progress", a "Submitted or an  "Approved status are included in the computation. Rejected time is not included in the computation.

      • The "Total Tasks" column shows the total number of tasks that are associated with each "Task Type", within the actual project.
      • The "Total Estimated Hours" column shows the total number of "Estimated Hours" for all tasks that belong to each "Task Type", within the actual project.
      • The "Total Actual Hours" column shows the total number of work hours that have been entered by assigned users in their time sheets, for all tasks that belong to each "Task Type", within the actual project.

How is Total Actual Hours calculated?
This number is the sum of all hours entered by project users in their time sheets for this project. Only work items with an "In progress", a "Submitted or an  "Approved status are included in the computation. Rejected time is not included in the computation. To see the detail of hours for each user, scroll down to the "Project Users Statistics" table.

How is Total Estimated Hours calculated?
This number is the sum of all estimated hours entered for this project's tasks. For example, if you have 10 tasks in your projects, each estimated at 2 hours, you would have 20 hours as your Total Estimated Hours.

How is Total Tasks calculated?
This is the total number of tasks - completed and incomplete - for this project.

How is Average % Done calculated?
This field indicates the global advancement of the project. The calculation is made as follows: For each task, the estimated hours is multiplied by the percentage done, giving the subtotal. All the task's subtotals are summed up, then divided by the total number of estimated hours for the whole project. Here's the formula:
S (estimated hours X %done) / total hours 

How is Average Actual % Done calculated?
The computation is made as follows: For each task, the actual hours are divided by the estimated hours, giving the subtotal. All the task's subtotals are summed up, then divided by the total number of tasks. Here's the formula: S (actual hours / estimated hours) / total tasks
