The Completed Tasks window displays only tasks that have a completed status. If you need to look at tasks with
another status, click the Incomplete Tasks link on the left
panel. This window includes 5 elements: a title bar, a
search bar, a quick action drop-down list, a task list and the "Delete
checked task(s)..." button.
- The title bar tells you where you are in
AceProject.
- The Add a Task link allows you to create a new task in the current
project. Note that you must have the proper access right to create new
tasks.
- The Search link lets you perform a search based on text content. The
search is done within 3 description fields: Summary, Details and Comment
Thread.
- The Printer Version link opens a window that contains
only the tasks that correspond to your search criteria. You
can even choose the number of tasks per page.
- The Export link opens a window that allows you to export the list
of tasks that is displayed on your screen. Export is available in two
formats: CSV and pure Excel.
- The following options can be set when exporting:
- Column Delimiter (separate items with a comma, a semicolon or with
tabulation).
- Decimal Symbol (dot or comma)
- Date Format
- Export On-Screen Columns Only (un-checking this box will export
hidden columns as well).
- Remove HTML Tags (un-checking this box will export all HTML code
that may have been used for text formatting).
- The Show/Hide Columns link opens a window that allows you to decide
which columns will be displayed in the task list. Note that this option
will set columns for the "My tasks", "Incomplete Tasks" and "Completed
Tasks" pages as well.
- At the end of the title bar you will find the link to contextual
help.
- The title bar also displays the total number of tasks that
fit the chosen search criteria.

The search bar lets you filter which tasks are displayed.
- Simply choose the task group, status, type, priority and/or assigned
user, and click Apply Filter.
- You may select one or more search criteria.
- Note that the statuses drop-down list only contains statuses having
a "Completed" status type.
- Note that the filters you will apply will be remembered every time
you will open the current page.
- The quick action drop-down list lets you reopen a previously
closed task. You can set the task's new status quickly:

Check the task(s) to reopen and choose the new status from the drop-down
list.
- To
reopen completed task(s), you need to do the following:

Check the task(s) you wish to reopen.

Choose its(their) new status in the quick action drop-down list to complete the
operation.

Note that it may not be possible to reopen a task if its successor
task(s) are in progress or completed.
- Note that the assigned users, creator and reviewers may receive an email
notifying them of the task's new status.
- Note that a completed task cannot be reopen if it belongs to a
completed project.
- The task list
displays all tasks corresponding to your search criteria.
- You can
sort the task list by clicking on any column header: click once to
sort in ascending order and twice to sort in descending order.
- Task numbers may be integers or decimal numbers. You can use
decimals to simulate sub-tasks.
- You may click on any task summary to open it.
- If there is a file icon next to the task summary (
),
this means there are file(s) attached to the task. Click on
the file number to open the task's file attachment tab.
- If there is a clock icon next to the task summary (
),
this means you have an IN/OUT item active for this task.
Click the clock to edit your counter.
- If there is a dependency icon next to the task
summary (
,
or
) this means that the task is linked
with other
tasks.
- The Delete checked task(s) button lets you delete tasks that
have been checked in the list above. This operation will
delete all their dependencies on other tasks as well as all their file
attachments.
- Note that only project managers and administrators can delete
completed tasks.
Can I modify a "completed" task?
A "completed" task cannot be modified by any user unless you reopen it.
How can I reopen a task?
To
reopen a "completed" task, you must do the following:

Check the task you wish to reopen.

Choose its new status in the quick action drop-down list to complete the
operation.

Note that it may not be possible to reopen a task if its successor

What is a task?
A task is an action a user must do within
the framework of a project. A task is assigned to a user and must
be completed within a certain time frame.
How do I add a task?
To add a task, click on the "Add a task"
link on top right of the main window. Then, fill out the mandatory
fields and click on the "Save" button. You must have the proper
access rights to be able to add a task.
How do I delete a completed task?
To delete a completed task, simply check the corresponding task and click
the "Delete checked task(s)..." button. This operation will delete all
dependencies on other tasks as well as all file attachments. Note that
only project managers and administrators can delete completed tasks.
How do I perform a search in the task
list?
A search bar is available at the top of
the Tasks page. You can perform a search on 5 basic criteria, one
at a time or combining several.
Can I have more than one "completed"
status?
You can create multiple "completed" statuses (for example:
cancelled, completed, approved, closed, etc.). Task statuses can be
created under "Configuration -> Task Statuses", on the left panel.
How do I sort tasks?
Tasks are automatically sorted in accordance with your preferences.
Moreover, you can sort the table by
clicking on any column header: click once to sort in ascending
order and twice to sort in descending order.
Where are my incomplete tasks?
Incomplete tasks are displayed in a separate window, for easier
management. When you change a completed task's status to another status,
it is automatically moved to the Incomplete Tasks page. To see your
incomplete tasks, click "Incomplete Tasks"
on the left panel.
I want to make a search on incomplete
tasks. Where is the status search field?
You cannot choose a status different from "Completed" since this page is
for completed tasks. To see your incomplete tasks, click the
Incomplete Tasks link on the left panel.
