Under “Edit my Profile” (avatar in top right hand corner of screen), you will find a setting called “Sort Task Report by” in the “Pagination” section. This setting allows you to specify the field to sort your task lists (including drop downs) and task reports by as well as the order (ascending or descending).

In several task list and report pages, you will notice a Show/Hide Columns feature (see image below). This feature allows you to set a specific sorting order which will override the default order defined under “Edit my Profile”.
